Warning: This article mentions sexual assault.

A serial rapist will be released from prison and sent straight out of the country at the end of October.

Akeel Hassan Abbas Al Baiiaty was first imprisoned in 1998 for the rape of two Auckland women.

Just weeks after his release in 2004, Al Baiiaty raped a 20-year-old student in a hostel.

His sentence for the 2004 assault was due to end on Monday, but the parole board has pushed his release back until October 28, reports NZME.

Al Baiiaty is a refugee. He was born in Iraq, and when his sentence ends, he will be going back, according to the parole board's chairman Sir Ron Young.

"Flights have now been re-booked for October 29," he said last week.

When he is released, Al Baiiaty will go straight into the hands of immigration officials or police.

The parole board had said in April that a reintegration meeting among Al Baiiaty's support network was crucial to "keep himself and the community, particularly women, safe".

He has had a reintegration meeting by phone, but the board is "concerned" about this.

"Because of difficulties with the phone connection, [Al Baiiaty] was not able to give a thorough account of his offending or his offending process or his high-risk situations or early warning signs," reads their decision.

"We make it clear that while we give Mr Al Baiiaty a release date, we are likely to revoke that release if a telephone reintegration meeting has not been held by his release date."

Once deported, Al Baiiaty will never be allowed back into New Zealand, nor will he be permitted any kind of contact with his victims.

When considering his release and deportation, the board took into account that Al Baiiaty had a private psychologist available in Iraq. He also has work opportunities and a fiancée.

Al Baiiaty told the board he plans to work for his family's business and marry his fiancée as soon as possible.
