What can NZ do about its shameful family violence record?

No one likes talking about abuse. It's awkward, it's hard and it's emotional. 

But we can't keep quiet anymore. A Newshub investigation has revealed family violence is more prevalent than ever, and what's worse is there's nothing to suggest it's going to get better.

Last year alone, there were more than 130,000 investigations into our national embarrassment.

So is there an answer? Or even hope?

National domestic abuse charity, Shine is big on making a difference and Executive Director Jane Drumm spoke to The AM Show.
