Armed police have swooped a farming settlement near Kawhia after shots were reportedly fired on Tuesday morning.
Police say the incident occurred on Harbour Road, near Berntsen Road, in the rural Waikato township of Hauturu at 7am.
A police spokesperson confirmed the Armed Offenders Squad attended the property and have taken a 39-year-old man into custody.
No one was injured in the incident.
