An Auckland man remains in critical condition after falling off an e-scooter and then being hit by a car.
Police said an investigation is underway into the hit-and-run, which follows a string of serious e-scooter accidents.
Emergency services were called to Symonds St at about 11:20pm on Saturday.
The victim was reportedly unconscious after falling off the e-scooter. He was narrowly avoided by an oncoming car, but then struck by a second.
Whoever struck him did not remain at the scene, and police are asking for information.
"Police would like to speak to the driver of that vehicle and any witnesses to the incident," said Det Snr Sgt Kathryn Bostock.
