Police have recovered a body from the Mangaokewa Stream in the North Island's King Country.
A vehicle was found partially submerged in high waters by Rangitoto Road on Tuesday morning with the person inside.
Te Kuiti police say they're working to identify the body.
"We ask that motorists avoid the area at this time," a spokesperson said. "The death will be referred to the Coroner."
