A homicide investigation has been launched in Ashburton after a young man died on Friday night.
Emergency services went to an address in Netherby at 11:45pm where they found the 23-year-old man with critical injuries.
They were unable to save him and he died at the scene.
The property has been cordoned off as police investigate further.
