A building in the Coromandel town of Thames has caught fire, the large blaze sending billows of black smoke from the roof.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson confirmed the blaze took place at the building materials supplier ITM on Kopu Road, reported shortly after 1:50pm on Sunday.
Eight fire trucks and one aerial appliance have attended the incident as well as six support vehicles, including a tanker and command unit. The trucks were sent from Tapu, Ngatia, Paeroa, Turua and Hamilton.
Despite initial concerns for those inside the two-storey building, the spokesperson confirmed everyone has been accounted for and no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters are continuing to battle the blaze.
