A 19-year-old woman will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday charged with the murder of a man in Canterbury.
Police were called to a property on McDonald Street in Ashburton on Friday, following the death of the 23-year-old victim.
A homicide investigation was launched after emergency services found him with critical injuries about 11:45pm on Friday.
They were unable to revive him and he died at the scene.
In a statement on Monday night, Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested said no-one else was sought by police in relation to the man's death.
The investigation was ongoing, he said, and a related search warrant was also executed at a nearby property on Monday.
