Sean Plunket is less than impressed with Tip Top's new vegan offering.

The ice cream company recently launched a vegan version of its classic Trumpet.

The new product is already available in some locations, and will be able to be bought nationwide from November 4.

One person who most likely won't be buying one, however, is Plunket.

The radio host came out swinging against the "woke Trumpet" on Magic Talk on Friday.

"I think the world's gone mad," he told listeners. "But on this World Vegan Day I'm prepared to debate it."

"Is this craven corporate wokeness by the people at Tip Top or would you be in the market for a vegan Trumpet, a vegan ice cream?"

He even had a suggestion for the company's next product.

"They'll soon be launching one called the 'Wokey Pokey Trumpet'," he speculated.

The concept of wokeness seems to have captivated Plunket lately.

In April he warned that the "woke left" was coming for rugby, expressing fears the "liberal left-wing woke feminazis" would call for rugby to be banned within the next two years.

And last month, he called TJ Perenara "a little too woke" for his liking, after the halfback suggested that the All Blacks were ready to accept a gay team member.
