A person has been arrested after a driver attempted to flee from police in Welcome Bay, Bay of Plenty.
A police spokesperson said the person resisted arrest and was Tasered by officers.
The pursuit started around 4:15pm on Sunday in the Tauranga suburb. The suspect was taken into custody roughly 15 minutes later.
Footage obtained by Newshub shows multiple officers attempting to subdue the suspect as sirens blare in the background.
It is currently uncertain why the pursuit was initiated.
