Two men sought by police after person knocked unconscious in Dunedin

A man who was knocked unconscious following an altercation at a Dunedin fast-food restaurant says he continues to suffer from headaches two weeks on - and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The man was allegedly assaulted after an altercation at a George St eatery around 1:30am on Saturday, December 14. 

Police say after leaving the fast-food restaurant, the man and a woman in their 20s were followed by two men as they walked north along George St. The man was knocked unconscious.

Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify the two men pictured above, who they believe can help with their inquiries.

"This type of behaviour is unacceptable and police take incidents of this nature extremely seriously," Detective Mark Durant said.

The victim is receiving support from the police.

Anyone who knows the pair of men in the photo or with any information that may help is asked to call 105 and quote file number 191214/2693.
