A woman is dead after a serious crash in Nelson early on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called at 12:15am to the crash at Wakefield Quay after a car collided with a pole.
Police say the 30-year-old woman died at Christchurch Hospital on Monday morning. Two others in the vehicle received minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
The woman's death brings the holiday road toll to four so far, after a fatal crash in Waitomo on Monday, a single-car crash at Kaitoke, near Whanganui, on Saturday, and a pedestrian's death following an accident in Blenheim on Friday.
