One person has died after a car and motorcycle crash on the Coromandel Peninsula.
The crash happened about 15km from the town of Kopu on the Kopu-Hikuai Rd at 3:15pm.
The motorcyclist died in the crash and the road has been closed while police work at the scene.
"Police thank motorists for their patience and continue to ask them to delay travel or use alternate routes."
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
