One person has died following a serious crash on State Highway 1.
Another person has also been injured, police said.
The crash happened on Tirau Rd near the intersection of Hydro Rd, near Cambridge, Waikato.
Police expect the road to remains closed for some time, while diversions have been put in place.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible or expect delays.
