A young Auckland couple is offering a $4000 reward for their missing English bulldog.

George was last seen on St Stevens Avenue in Parnell, and although his owners initially were told by neighbours "some kind person picked him up" they are now fearful they might not get him back.

Dolly Niuhulu and Ethan Yandall say they have been checking daily with local shelters to see if their dog has turned up.

"He means that much to us," Niuhulu told the Herald

"We are so heartbroken. This is like my baby and we don't know where he is."

The couple have made multiple appeals on Facebook to find the one-year-old.

"All those Parnell people in FB land our beautiful George has gone walkabout and we need your help to find him.

"Apparently the neighbors saw some kind person picking him up and taking care of him. Please share to your community pages so we can find this man to get in touch with him."

As well as offering the reward, the couple were also hiring a private investigator, they told the Herald.
