One person is in a critical condition after a drowning incident at Baylys Beach, in Northland's Kaipara District.
Emergency services were called to reports of a drowning about 5:45pm, police said in a statement.
"One person is in a critical condition and another person has minor injuries," the statement said.
"There is no further information available at this stage."
