A passenger has died on an Auckland flight from China.

The traveller was flying from Guangzhou on a China Southern Airlines flight when the incident occurred.

"Unfortunately, the passenger had passed away before arrival to Auckland Airport," an Auckland Airport spokesperson told Newshub.

The passenger's death is believed to have been due to a medical event and not related to the coronavirus.
