Police are responding to a firearms incident in Otaki on the Kapiti Coast.
A police spokesperson confirmed police were called out to Rangiuru Rd just after 12:30pm and were still at the scene.
Witnesses on social media reported hearing shots fired and a number of police cars in the area.
Police said there were no injuries in the incident and that one person was assisting them with inquiries.
