A serious crash in Southland on Wednesday evening has injured eight people and blocked the road.
Two cars were involved in the crash which happened at the intersection of Five Rivers-Lumsden Highway and Mossburn Five Rivers Rd.
It was reported to emergency services at around 5:30pm.
Police say the eight people have received a range of injuries and the serious crash unit has been notified.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area since the road is blocked.
