A young mother whose disappearance sparked a police search has been found safe.

Police confirmed in a statement Karina Bradnam has been located on Tuesday afternoon in Porirua.

She was first reported missing on Saturday and family members made pleas on social media to help find her.

The 29-year-old had last been seen Thursday 13 February in Wellington's Titahi Bay, wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

Makere Gibbons, former host of The Crowd Goes Wild, shared a post on Instagram which confirmed Bradnam was her sister.
