Firefighters in the North Island have been kept busy fighting a number of blazes overnight.
A number of residents in Paihia, in the Bay of Islands, have been evacuated due to a large scrub fire.
Crews were called to Binnie Street at around 10:20pm on Sunday. Emergency services are still on scene and helicopters have been organised to help fight the inferno at first light.
There are no reports of injuries.
Meanwhile, crews have also been fighting a tree clipping fire in the eastern Bay of Plenty.
Firefighters were called to Factory Road in Opotiki at 1:40am on Monday.
They remain on scene and the inferno is not threatening any homes in the area.
