Livestream: Ministry of Health, Civil Defence Emergency Management give COVID-19 update

The Ministry of Health and Civil Defence Emergency Management have provided the latest updates on New Zealand's COVID-19 outbreak during a press conference on Tuesday.

Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield and Director of Civil Defence Emergency Management Sarah Stuart-Black addressed the latest case figures, national response updates and Civil Defence initiatives.

On Tuesday, 58 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 were announced, bringing New Zealand's case total to 647. As of Tuesday, 74 people have recovered from the virus and 12 remain hospitalised, with two patients in the ICU.

New Zealand's first virus-related death was announced on Sunday. Greymouth woman Anne Guenole, aged in her 70s, returned a positive test for COVID-19 after initially being diagnosed with influenza, complicated by an underlying health condition.
