The Ministry of Health's Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield is providing an update on New Zealand's response to the coronavirus outbreak.

There are currently four confirmed cases of the illness in New Zealand. The first was announced last Friday, a person who returned from Iran, while the second was a woman who visited northern Italy. Her husband was confirmed to also have the illness on Friday.

The fourth positive test was for a man in his 40s who likely contracted the disease from a family member who has been in Iran. That family member is a probable fifth case.
