Ōtara shooting: Man, 28, charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder in relation to a shooting in the South Auckland suburb of Ōtara last week.

At 11:45pm on February 28, a man was found critically on Bairds Road. Despite attempts at medical assistance, he died at the scene.

A second victim was also injured but has since been released from hospital. 

Following a homicide investigation, a 28-year-old man has been charged with murder and is expected to appear in Manukau District Court on Friday, Detective Inspector Tofilau Va'aelua confirmed.

A second man, 30, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and is due to appear in Manukau District Court on March 10.
