Police in Christchurch have located the family of a child found by himself in the suburb of Sockburn.
The boy, thought to be aged about 5-years-old, was found on Yaldhurst Rd about 7am on Friday, police said in a statement.
Later on Friday morning, police confirmed the boy's family had been found.
"Police would like to thank the public for their assistance."
