Police are trying to identify a body that was pulled from the water in Evans Bay in Wellington.
Police were told about the body at 12:40pm on Tuesday and brought it ashore at Evans Bay mariner.
Police said enquiries were underway to establish what had happened and the matter has now been referred to the coroner.
