A 27-year-old Hawke's Bay man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after the death of a seven-month-old girl.
The girl was found unresponsive at a Porangahau home in 2019.
Emergency services rushed to the property on 8 October and found the baby unresponsive.
"Tragically she was unable to be revived," says Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard.
The man will appear in Hastings District Court on Wednesday after a lengthy police investigation into the girl's death.
As the matter is now before the court, police say no further comment can be made at this stage.
