A person has died after being hit by a train in west Auckland on Tuesday morning.
Police said they were called to Bruce McLaren Rd at around 6:45am where they found the victim dead by the tracks.
Some train services in the area have been temporarily suspended while police are at the scene.
A section of Railside Ave, near the intersection of Bruce McLaren Rd, is also closed.
The circumstances around the incident are being investigated, though there is nothing suspicious about the incident at this time, a spokesperson said.
Auckand Transport said Western Lines are running between New Lynn and Auckland City while a rail shuttle bus is operating between Henderson and New Lynn.
