Police have made an arrest after a man was assaulted in south Auckland on Tuesday night.
Police were called to a property on Manuroa Road in Takanini at 11:40pm after reports of gunshots. When they arrived they found a man with serious injuries, consistent with an assault, lying in the street. He was taken to Middlemore Hospital.
Police found and arrested another man near the property. A gun was also found at the address.
A scene examination is being carried out today and enquiries are continuing.
