36yo woman charged after video of her twerking on Auckland Harbour Bridge

A 36-year-old woman has been charged after she was filmed twerking on the middle of Auckland's Harbour Bridge.

The video, uploaded to Facebook earlier in the week, shows a car driving up the bridge before pulling over onto a strip in the middle.

"F*** the police," a female occupant yells.

A woman gets out and thrusts her buttocks at the camera while cars zoom past.

The video was captioned "first one to shake thur ass in the harbour bridge (sic)".

Police say a 36-year-old woman has identified as the culprit and has been charged for being a pedestrian on a motorway. This carries a $250 infringement fine.

Tāmaki Makaurau Road Policing Manager Inspector Scott Webb says the woman's actions were very dangerous.

"Stopping a vehicle on the motorway without good cause, not to mention exiting the vehicle, puts yourself at risk, and if a crash were to occur, you risk harming others as well.

"Our job is to ensure all road users are safe, and dangerous behaviour like this will be held to account wherever possible."

The bridge is no stranger to different types of stunts and seemingly dangerous behaviour. Prankster Johnny Danger once climbed on top of a taxi for 20 seconds while it crossed the bridge, while an Auckland photographer once hung out a car to get the perfect shot.

And it's not clear if the woman will learn her lesson.

"I'm a do it again (sic)," the woman who uploaded the video said in the video comments.
