Police launch homicide investigation after man dies in Hamilton assault

A homicide investigation has been launched after a man died in Bader, Hamilton on Friday. 

Police were called to a residential address on Slim Street around 6pm following reports of an assault. 

Detective senior sergeant William Loughrin said the man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. 

"Police are conducting enquiries to locate the alleged offender and we are committed to resolving this matter as quickly as possible," Loughrin said. 

"A scene examination has commenced at the property."

"Police are also speaking to witnesses but we would like to hear from anyone else who may have information that can assist the investigation."
