An investigation has been launched into the death of a young child in Manawatu.
The child was admitted to Palmerston North Hospital on Monday and passed away that night.
Manawatu police on Thursday said the cause of death was unexplained, and they are making enquiries into the circumstances.
The child's name and age aren't yet known, but the police say further updates will likely follow.
