A woman has pleaded guilty to escaping from a managed isolation hotel in Auckland earlier this month.

Suzanne Derrett, 43, appeared at the Dunedin District Court on Tuesday and was remanded on bail until next week.

Derrett arrived in New Zealand from Brisbane on June 27 and had been staying at the Pullman Hotel in the Auckland CBD.

She had tested for negative for coronavirus before her escape on July 4.

Derrett will reappear in court next Tuesday.
