Kiwis ridicule Manawatu District Council Facebook post over suggestive photo

Kiwis have hilariously ridiculed the Manawatu District Council after it posted a heavy snow warning with what many interpreted to be a suggestive photo.

The council warned locals in a Facebook post snow is expected to fall to 500 metres overnight, and it illustrated the area weather was anticipated to hit with what appears to be penis-shaped shading.

Facebook commenters were quick to find the humour in the post, with many using puns to poke fun at the photo.

"Good thing we (Cheltenham) didn't make it on the map otherwise we would be looking at it head first," one wrote.

"Better get the winter willies out. Sorry woolies, the winter woolies," another commented.

"You would think it would be smaller given how cold it is," a third said.

Another questioned whether the Facebook post had been looked at before it was sent out.

"Did anyone at the council check this before posting it? I haven't laughed so much for a long time."

Taihape and the Ruahine Range in the Manawatu region is expected to be pummelled with heavy snow and severe southerly gales until Thursday, prompting MetService to issue weather warnings for the area. It's forecast to clear by 1pm.
