Police are investigating after the "sudden death" of a child in Whanganui.
Emergency services were called to the address on London Street around 2:00pm on Monday.
Police say a child was taken to Whanganui Hospital but was unable to be revived.
"Police have referred the death to the Coroner and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death," a spokesperson says.
"Our deepest sympathies are extended to the child's whānau and friends."
