Watch: Kiwi dad's hilarious quarantine video diary

A Kiwi builder who has made a life in America decided to move his children back to New Zealand as Coronavirus ravages the USA, closing his kids' school and social lives.

But first he had to have two weeks in isolation in a tiny hotel room with a five and seven-year-old, and he decided to keep a video diary of how they stayed sane.

Aucklander Angus Duncan and his two boys 7-year-old Ollie and Jude who's 5 spent two weeks holed up in a 24 square metre room at the Crowne Plaza. 

The family live in Santa Barbara and Duncan's wife is an American. 

He's brought his kids home to go to school and with their cousins in Tauranga.

"New Zealand is the safest place to live so that is what we have chosen," he told Newshub. 

"You have your good days and your bad days, that's for sure. mentally and physically," Duncan said of quarantine. 

Now he out and free to hug his New Zealand family and get the one thing on his hit list - a pie.
