A child has died after being injured at an Upper Hutt playground.
Police confirmed to Newshub that the child was rushed to hospital with critical injuries at 11:40am on Thursday. They died a short time later.
Police say inquiries are ongoing but it appears the child was injured in a "tragic" accident while playing at Harcourt Park.
People can expect a heavy police presence as a scene examination is conducted.
