Premium taxi company Corporate Cabs has launched a new app and website making the service a lot more accessible to both its current clients, and potential new ones.

The New Zealand owned and operated company has made a significant investment in the new system which removes the need to make a phone call to book a cab, putting the fleet's booking system in the hand of its passengers via the app that's linked directly to their dispatching system.

The taxi industry was not immune to the financial impact associated with COVID-19, but the company turned that downtime into a positive, using it to develop and implement the new booking system.

"We knew before COVID-19 that we needed to do something about the booking process, and when our workload dropped to almost zero, we accelerated the action plan and got the system up and running," said Cameron Allison from Corporate Cabs.

"I believe our in-car experience is the best in New Zealand. But, our pre and post journey experience was not as good as it should have been. Our customer’s expectations have changed and we needed to adapt to better service their needs”

The technology also brings Corporate Cabs into line with rideshare operators by giving customers direct access to its booking system via an app.

Allison says this also exposes the brand to potential new customers who may have perceived Corporate Cabs as being expensive.

"When you compare our rates on an Auckland CBD to the airport trip, our pricing is not too different from other popular taxi brands," he said.

Allison says the company has historically received most of its work through airport transfers, but the aim is to get more people using Corporate Cabs in and around the CBD for shorter trips.

"Our drivers have years of experience. They are all vetted and know the city's roads like the back of their hand. So the journey is going to be just as quick as it is comfortable," he said.

"Many of our drivers have a loyal client base and will operate all day without driving anyone other than their regulars. It's that repeat business that is proof of the high level of service and privacy our customers get."

Corporate Cabs also offers a door-to-door airport service. Arriving passengers are met by drivers holding a sign and will be taken to a car located right at the door of the terminal, and unlike rideshare services, the company can also drop its clients at the terminal, rather than in drop-off zones located away from the airport entrance.

Allison is hoping it's that level of access, both on the ground, and on your phone that will have more people opening the door to a Corporate Cabs experience.
