Police have launched a homicide inquiry following a death in rural New Plymouth.
Officers arrived at a Korito property just before 7pm on Saturday, where a man had been seriously injured. He died at the scene, unable to be revived.
The armed offenders squad was then called in, with a person known to the victim arrested a few hours later at 9pm.
Charges are yet to be laid and no one else is being sought.
A scene examination was to take place on Saturday night.
