The police are reassuring people that a firearm incident in Auckland early this morning isn't random.
They were called to a house in Alta Terrace, Clover Park, following reports of multiple gunshots about 1:30am Sunday morning.
A short time later a person turned up at Middlemore Hospital with a moderate gunshot wound.
A scene examination is underway and a scene guard is in place.
People are asked to provide any information to the police they may have about the shooting.
