Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will reveal New Zealand's alert levels from Saturday in a press conference at 5:30pm.

Auckland went into alert level 3 and the rest of New Zealand entered alert level 2 on Wednesday after community transmission was detected in south Auckland.

The lockdown is due to end at midnight Friday unless the Prime Minister extends it.

Experts expect it to be extended as more people in New Zealand test positive for COVID-19 in the community.

New Zealand recorded 13 more cases and one probable on Friday, bringing the total number of cases from community transmission to 30.Twenty-eight are from Auckland and two from Tokoroa. All are linked to the south Auckland cluster.
