Watch protestors march down Queen Street in anger over lockdown

A swarm of protesters descended on Auckland's CBD on Saturday, furious over the city's alert level 3 lockdown put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Beginning at Aotea Square the protesters held signs detailing their anger over a range of issues including the lockdown, 5G, vaccinations and 1080.

From there they marched down Auckland's largely-empty Queen Street as police urged them to physically distance from one another.

As they marched they chanted things like "my body, my choice, no mask will hide our voice" in protest of the Government's non-mandatory request that people wear face masks when in public to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

"I do not consent" was another popular slogan, as were repeated screams of "f***k no".

The protest comes as Auckland recorded a further six new cases of COVID-19 - two of which have not been linked to the current outbreak.

New Zealand now has 1321 cases of COVID-19, 111 of which are active.

Nine people are in hospital and three are in intensive care.
