A car has gone into the water and is now submerged at Meeanee Quay in Napier.
The vehicle was seen in the area around 5am before it went into the water.
It's unknown how many people were in the car or exactly when it went under.
Police and emergency services were alerted to the incident around 5:10am, and are at the scene trying to retrieve it.
Anyone with information in relation to the submerged vehicle is urged to call police on 105.
