The Greenlane off-ramp on Auckland's State Highway 1 has reopened following the discovery of a suspicious item in a man's car.
Police rushed to a property in Avice St Remuera just before 3pm on Friday after they were informed of a man acting suspiciously outside it.
The mysterious item was found in his car and he was promptly arrested. As a precaution, police cordoned off the road, evacuated nearby homes and closed the offramp so the police specialist search group could investigate.
By 4pm the off-ramp had reopened.
