A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found seriously injured at a Christchurch address on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the property in the suburb of Edgeware just before 3am.
A police statement said the man was transferred to Christchurch Hospital but died shortly after.
One person was arrested at the scene and is assisting police.
Police said a scene guard is in place and an examination will continue on Sunday.
