The Government has stressed the importance of contact tracing as a way to control the spread of COVID-19, repeatedly encouraging New Zealanders to get the COVID-19 tracer app - but what if you or someone you know isn't all that technology savvy?

Instead, there's another option to do your bit in the fight against coronavirus.

The Government has released a COVID Tracer booklet so Kiwis who don't rely on a smartphone can still track their movements.

Each booklet has 30 pages and comes in a pack of 10 so Kiwis can keep track of where they've been for 10 months before needing to order more.

Keep a booklet on your person whenever you leave your house - they're small enough to fit in a handbag or backpack and note where you go and when.

It's also recommended you write down who you see - if it's someone you know.

People who have friends or whanau who don't use the app are encouraged to order the booklets for them to ensure everyone in the team of five million is doing their bit.

The books are currently available in English - but more languages are on the way soon.

To order them, New Zealanders can email covid19Response@dpmc.govt.nz or click here for a downloadable copy to print at home.
