A person has drowned after falling into the water in the Northland village of Mangonui.
Emergency services, including police, St John and Fire Emergency, were called to the scene on Tuesday night just before 8:30pm.
The person was pulled from the water but died at the scene.
Their death will be referred to the Coroner.
