A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 44-year-old man in Christchurch Hospital on Sunday morning.
The 31-year-old will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Monday.
Police launched a homicide investigation after the 44-year-old was found seriously injured at a property in the Christchurch suburb of Edgeware early Sunday morning.
The man died shortly after he was transferred to Christchurch Hospital.
His name cannot be released until police have notified all next of kin.
As the matter is now before the court, police say no further comment can be made at this stage.
