Three arrests made after man shot in Christchurch

Three arrests have been made after a firearms incident in central Christchurch on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Hereford St in Christchurch's CBD at about 2pm.

The victim was critically injured but is now in a stable condition in hospital.

Three men aged 25 to 27 are due to appear in court on Monday following the incident.

"A firearm believed to have been used during the incident was also recovered," a police statement said on Sunday.

"Cordons and a scene guard have remained in place overnight."

No one else is being sought in connection to the incident but any witnesses are urged to contact police on 105, quoting file number P043733640.
