An Auckland company director has apologised for an advertisement labelled "patronising" and "aggressive", saying it doesn't represent the values of the business.

All Clear, a property testing group which checks homes for mould, meth, asbestos and more, posted the listing for a graduate role on Seek.

"This is a graduate role where we will invest in YOU," it read.

"The salary reflects that massive investment in YOUR training on OUR part. Unrealistic expectations here WILL rule your application out IMMEDIATELY."

The listing was reposted on Reddit, where commenters tore it apart, blasting All Clear as "embarrassing", "patronising" and "incredibly cringey".

"Not only incredibly cringey, but a surefire way to weed out any half-decent applicant," wrote one person.

"Only the shittiest people will still apply after reading that. Whoever's handling hiring is a joke."

All Clear's director Adam Gordon told Newshub the ad had now expired, but vowed the company "will be mindful to better align our communications with our values" in future job listings.

"We understand how it could have been written in a way that better reflects our company culture and values, and we apologise for this," he said.
